Following the successful giving of hundreds of thousands of brand new TOMS shoes to the learners of South Africa since 2012, Sešego Cares, together with the Lilian Dube School Shoe Project will embark on spreading more cheer over the next few weeks.
This handover of shoes is a result of a unique partnership between Sešego Cares and TOMS. The project aims to give underprivileged children a pair of quality shoes which they can call their own and wear with pride, all made possible by an innovative business model. For every pair of TOMS shoes sold, a second pair is given to children in need across the globe. One for One.™
Having recently undergone a single mastectomy, local icon, actress and producer Lillian Dube has announced that her birthday celebrations will be postponed to possibly later in November while she recuperates from surgery.
Diagnosed in 2007 with breast cancer following a routine check-up, Lillian underwent chemotherapy and a successful procedure to remove the cancerous growth. Lillian beat the disease on 11 January 2008. In September this year Lillian discovered a further lump and underwent a single mastectomy to ensure her continued remission. Taking a hiatus from her fast-paced schedule to recuperate, Lillian is doing well and recovering from surgery. The actress who celebrates her 70th birthday this year has been advised by her medical team to get some rest, resulting in her birthday celebrations planned for the 22nd October being postponed, with a new date to be announced soon.
The Celebrities for Good Causes Foundation is thrilled to welcome you to our brand new website.
Celebrities for Good Causes is a recently established charitable foundation, founded by Lillian Dube, as an all-inclusive organization designed to harvest fellow celebrity power for good causes.
We intend to help a number of causes in South Africa. We have reached out and partnered with a number of high profile individuals and celebrities who would love to lend a hand and make a difference in the lives of people within South African communities, but do not have the time and/or resources to make a meaningful contribution in a sustainable manner.
